How to Change the Theme in Firefox Personas

Firefox's Personas feature empowers you to change the look of your browser with a single click of the mouse. With traditional Firefox themes, you have to download and install them, then restart your browser. The upside to all this work is that full-blown themes can alter advanced functions, whereas Personas utilize a browser add-on to only change the basic colors and images displayed in your toolbars. Everything you need to get started with Personas is available on the Personas website.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Firefox and visit the Personas website (see Resources).

    • 2

Browse the Persona Gallery by clicking the "Gallery" button at the top of the Personas website. Search through all available Personas, or narrow the scope of the search by choosing a category from the left-hand column.

    • 3

Hover your mouse cursor over a Persona. Firefox's toolbars immediately change as the Persona is previewed in your browser.

    • 4

Click the orange "Wear It" button that appears when you mouse over a Persona to set it as Firefox's theme.

    • 5

Select the "Add-ons" option in the Firefox menu if you'd like to change between Personas you've recently installed. Open the "Appearance" tab, then click "Enable" next to the Persona you'd like to use.
