How to Tag on YouTube

Save

After you shoot a video on your digital camera or cellphone, you could decide to share it with other people by posting it on YouTube, the free video-hosting website. For example, you shot a video of your friend scoring the winning touchdown, and you want to show off his talents to the world. To help people find the video, you need to add descriptive words, called tags. You can easily tag your video on YouTube.

  • Go to the YouTube website (youtube.com).

  • Log into your account.

  • Click "Upload."

  • Click "Upload Video." A dialog box appears. Click the folder on your computer that as the video you want to share. Click the video file, and then click "Open" to upload the video to YouTube.

  • Type a title for the video in the "Title" text box, and type a description of the video, such as "Joe wins the game!" in the "Description" text box.

  • Type descriptive keywords in the "Tags" box, such as "football," the person's name and the name of the team.

  • Click "Save Changes."
