You can replace Firefox with Internet Explorer on your Windows computer.

Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer are two Web browser applications for the Microsoft Windows operating system. A user may prefer one browser over the other, depending on his specific needs. If your computer has Firefox installed, you can remove it and install Internet Explorer instead.

Instructions

    • 1

Log into the computer as a user with administrator privileges.

    • 2

Launch Firefox by double-clicking its desktop icon. Navigate to the "Download Internet Explorer 8" Web page. Click on the "Download" link next to the language you want for Internet Explorer on your computer.

    • 3

Double-click the downloaded file and follow the prompts. When the install wizard completes, Internet Explorer will be ready to use on your computer.

    • 4

Click the "Start" button and then "Control Panel." Click "Programs," then "Programs and Features."

    • 5

Locate "Mozilla Firefox" on the list. Click it to select it, then click "Uninstall." Enter the administrator password if Windows prompts you for it. When the uninstaller completes, Mozilla Firefox will have been removed from the computer.
