How to Pick Colors for a Fall Festival Picture
When choosing colors for a fall festival, first consider the purpose of the picture. There are multiple types of fall festival pictures. Some pictures are advertisements for the festival itself. Other pictures are photo opportunities to commemorate the festival. Sometimes photographers are present at these events and work at booths or stands. They may offer to take on-the-spot-group pictures with a select fall-themed background. The colors for the picture are important, as the coloring helps to convey to tone of the event.

Choose colors that go with the theme of the festival. As there are many types of fall festivals, choose colors that play on the theme. For example, if you are having a pumpkin patch festival, choose colors such as orange and green that will remind people of pumpkins. Keep the color choice fairly obvious so as not to confuse attendees with your choice.

Play it safe by choosing traditional fall colors. When many people think of fall colors, they think of golds, browns, reds, oranges and sometimes black, when the season gets closer to Halloween. Using traditional fall colors for a fall festival picture is an especially good idea if the festival is lacking a specific theme other than the season of fall.

Celebrate the team or organization that either sponsored, or that plays a large part in the event, by using their colors. Some fall festivals are put on to celebrate a sports team victory or season. Other festivals are put on by teams or organizations to raise money for their efforts. If this is the case, help to advertise the cause of the festival by incorporating the affiliation colors into the fall festival pictures.

Contact others who are participating in the festival and find out what colors they are considering using for advertisements, such as banners or fliers. Vendors and event planners likely have an idea of colors that they deem appropriate, so ask for advice or try to establish a color scheme throughout, if there isn't already one in place.
