If you are looking to log on to the Internet with your cellular phone or personal digital assistant, the pre-bundled web browser is usually your first option. Opera--with its mobile sister component, Opera Mobile--is an alternative that comes installed on select Symbian and Android operating system-based handsets. Along with Opera Mini, which is supported across all major phone operating systems, Opera Mobile represents the mobile suite in the family of Opera browsers.
Access the "Settings" menu from the main menu of your handset and then scroll down until you highlight the "Settings" icon. Press the "Center" key, or touch the icon on touch screen devices to select the icon.
Select "Applications" in the "Settings" menu and scroll until you find the "Applications" icon. Select it to enter the "Applications" menu.
Locate the Opera Mobile 9 tab in the "Applications" menu. You should now have a full list of the applications installed on your device. The list might be very long depending on your usage. Scroll through the list until you find the Opera Mobile 9 tab.
Move the cursor or tap the screen to highlight the Opera Mobile 9 tab. This should bring up a menu giving you the name, publishing company and size of the app. Press the "Menu" key on your phone or touch the "Uninstall" button on the screen to bring up the uninstall option. Select "Uninstall."
Tips & Warnings
- If Opera Mobile 9 does not appear on your phone's application list and you know the browser is installed, you may need to reinstall the browser before uninstalling it.
- Some phones don't give the users the option to uninstall prepackaged software. In this case, try updating the Opera browser to the newest version and then attempting to uninstall.
