How to File Emergency Unemployment Compensation in Maryland

Emergency unemployment compensation (EUC) is a federal program that provides unemployment extensions beyond the state benefits. Many states require you file a new claim to receive the extensions and continued claims for each payment received. Maryland automatically reviews your claim for eligibility for each level of extensions and enrolls you if qualify. Therefore, the only claims you must file for EUC in Maryland are the continued claims. Once every two weeks, you either visit the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulations (DLLR) website or call the claims line to answers questions about the previous two weeks to receive payment for those two weeks.
