How to Get Ring Tones on My Palm Pre Plus

HP/Palm Pre Plus phones play any music file as a ring tone.

The HP/Palm Pre Plus is a smartphone with a full-color touchscreen and slide out physical keyboard. These phones feature 8 gigabytes of internal memory storage, perfect for storing digital music files. The HP/Palm Pre Plus also plays digital music files as ringtones. You can transfer any song you have on your computer to the phone and use it as a ringtone. All you will need to do is connect your phone to your computer using a Micro USB to standard USB cable, such as the one included with your HP/Palm charger.

Instructions

1. Disconnect the Micro USB to standard USB cable from your HP/Palm Pre Plus charger. If you do not have the default charger for your device, you can use any Micro USB to standard USB cable.

2. Connect the standard USB end of the cable to an available USB 2.0 port on your computer.

3. Plug the Micro USB end of the cable to your HP/Palm Pre Plus charger port. A prompt will appear on the touch screen.

4. Tap the "USB Drive" button on the touchscreen. The phone's internal memory will appear as a removable hard drive labeled "Palm Pre." You will not be able to use the phone while it is connected to the computer.

5. Copy the music file you want to use as your ring tone to the "Music" folder on the "Palm Pre" drive. Eject the phone from your computer and disconnect the Micro USB to standard USB cable.

6. Tap the "Launcher" icon on the bottom right corner of the HP/Palm Pre Plus touchscreen. Locate the icon labeled "Sounds and Ringtones" and tap it on the touchscreen.

7. Tap on the button labeled "Ringtone" and a list of pre-installed ring tones will appear.

8. Tap the music button in the bottom corner of the screen. The contents of the "Music" folder will display.

9. Select the file you want as your ring tone on the touchscreen. The previous ring tone screen will appear, but the file you selected will be available at the bottom of the list.

10. Tap the song and a green check mark will appear, confirming that it is now set as your ring tone.
