How to Make Children's Goo
Children love gooey, sticky, slimy substances. They love to squish their hands through homemade goo. Making gloppy goo with your child can be a fun learning experience. Kids learn to measure ingredients and note the chemical changes that heat produces. Homemade goo is also a great way to entertain children at a Halloween party or bust boredom on a rainy day.
Things You'll Need
- 2 cups corn starch
- 2 cups warm water
- Medium cooking pot
- Spoon
- Food coloring
- Resealable plastic bag

Mix together the corn starch and water in a medium cooking pot with a spoon. Stir until there are no more lumps.

Cook over a medium-high heat until the mixture begins to boil. Continue stirring carefully.

Add several drops of food coloring until the mixture reaches your desired color. Turn off the heat and allow the mixture to cool.

Play with goo on newspaper or a plastic surface. Keep goo in a sealable plastic bag when not in use.

Tips & Warnings
Try coloring the goo with green food coloring to mimic the slime from a popular children's television network.
Do not allow goo to come into contact with wood or fabrics as it may stain. Wash out clothing immediately that has goo on it to avoid staining. Leave out the food coloring to decrease the risk of staining.
