How to Hook Up a Samsung DVD Player to a Toshiba HDTV

Samsung DVD plyers are equipped with a high-definition media inerface (HDMI) jack for connecting directly to an HDTV, including models manufactured by Toshiba. HDMI is the high-definition protocol for delivering digital video and multi-channel audio through a single cable connection. Use an HDMI cable to connect your Samsung DVD player to a Toshiba HDTV.

Instructions

1. Turn off power to the Samsung player and the Toshiba HDTV.

2. Connect the cable from the "HDMI OUT" port on the rear of the Samsung DVD player to any HDMI port on the Toshiba. Some Toshiba sets have four HDMI ports. Any of them will work with this connection.

3. Turn on power to the Samsung player and the Toshiba television.

4. Press the video input button on the Toshiba remote control to display the current input on the TV screen. Press and release the button until the Samsung logo displays on the TV screen.
