How to Ask a Girl to Lunch

How to Ask a Girl to Lunch thumbnail
Confidence and sincerity are the key to getting a woman to say yes when you ask her out.

Asking someone out on a date can be a nerve-wracking experience. By putting yourself out there you are also putting yourself at risk for rejection. Keep in mind, however, that you will never get a positive response if you do not ask. When asking a girl out to lunch it is important to be polite and respectful, but also give the girl a chance to see the real you, to preview what going on a date with you would be like.

Instructions

    • 1

Prepare yourself by thinking positively. Do not expect rejection. If you think positively and expect the girl to say yes, then your body language will communicate confidence and you will feel more relaxed and less nervous.

    • 2

Ensure that the woman you are asking out knows that you are interested. If the woman you have set your eye on is someone you've been friends with for a long time, she may be shocked when you ask her out. Even if she is not someone with whom you have a friendship already it doesn't hurt to flirt a little bit, to compliment or tease her to let her know that you are interested.

    • 3

Slip your invitation in naturally to the end of a conversation. While talking to her, tell her that you have to leave but would love to continue the conversation over lunch sometime and ask for her number. Asking her out this way keeps things casual but opens the door for your relationship to move past the casual acquaintance or friendship stage.

Avoid the mistakes that most men make when asking a woman out. If you are asking a girl you don't know very well to lunch do not fall into the trap that many men fall into by first complimenting her looks or by asking if she has a boyfriend. Play up your strengths like your sense of humor or your fit physique to show her what makes you different from other men and why she should go on a date with you.

    • 5

Show her you are sincere and interested. Once you have survived the hard part, asking her out to lunch, let her know you are excited about it. Be sincere when you say something like "I'm looking forward to our lunch this weekend" or send her a text message to that effect a day or two before the date. Do not go overboard, though; just let her know you are thinking about her and looking forward to your time together.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't let rejections get you down. There are many reasons why women reject invitations and many of them will have nothing to do with you. If a woman is going through a stressful time in her life or has just gotten out of a relationship she may not be up to dating. The best thing you can do is be respectful of her wishes and move on.
