Painting on Corelle
Painting on the surface of a Corelle plate, cup or bowl works best if you use paints that are designed to adhere to slick surfaces. Corelle dinnerware is available in single pieces or as a set in discount and home supply stores. Select pieces with a solid color background to make your painted designs stand out. Do not serve or dine from painted Corelle dinnerware; once you decorate the pieces with paint, use them only for decorative purposes.

Instructions
-
Glass/Enamel
-
1
Clean the Corelle surface to be painted with glass cleaner. Dry the surface with a soft cloth.
-
2
Tape the design stencil/template onto the surface of the Corelle plate, cup or bowl. Brace a cup or bowl as needed to keep it steady.
-
-
3
Cover the section of Corelle inside of the design cutout with glass or enamel paint using artist's paintbrushes. Remove the design template.
-
4
Follow the manufacturer's directions for setting and drying the paint. Glass paint sets in a warm oven over a specific period of time, or you can place it in direct sunlight to set. Enamel paint often sets through air drying.
Stained Glass
-
5
Clean and dry the Corelle dinnerware to be painted. Tape a design template or stencil onto the Corelle object.
-
6
Trace the outline of the design onto the Corelle using a permanent marker. Remove the design template. Apply self-adhesive leading strips onto the marked design lines. Look for the strips at craft stores in the same aisle as the stained glass paint. The strips are flexible, so you can use them on curves and wavy designs.
-
7
Squirt stained glass paint directly from the bottle onto the sections of the Corelle between the leading strips. Smooth the top of the paint with a paint comb after covering each section. Pop any leftover air bubbles in the paint with a toothpick.
-
8
Allow the paint to dry for 24 to 36 hours.
