The food you eat might contain much more fat than you realize, and by making some simple changes to each meal, you will soon be enjoying a nearly fat-free diet.       Avoid frying foods. This creates a lot of fat. Instead, use alternative cooking methods, such as steaming, broiling or microwaving.

      Remove fat from meats. You can cut fat you can see from meat before you even cook it, and ladle off the fat that forms on soups with meat-based broths. To further curb fat and calories, consider cutting meat, poultry and eggs from your diet altogether or at least only eating them once in a while.

      Eat dairy sparingly. Foods like butter, sour cream and cheese can be exceptionally high in fat. Like meat, you can avoid this fat by cutting dairy from your diet.

      Cut fat from salads by using dressings with a base of either vinegar or lemon juice rather than creamy dressings.

      Read nutrition labels. When you have a few choices for a food, opt for the one with less fat.
