How to Connect a Category 5 to an Outlet
A category 5 (Cat5) cable is a type of Ethernet connection. Category 5 Ethernet wall outlets are used to connect computers, hubs, video game systems and other networked electronic devices to a wired network built into a structure. Ethernet cables resemble phone cables, but with slightly larger connectors with more pins. If you've ever plugged in a telephone cable, you're well equipped to connect a category 5 Ethernet cable to an outlet.
