How to Uninstall My Movies in Vista
My Movies is a free movie management plug-in that installs in Windows Vista Home Premium and Ultimate. When properly installed, My Movies will run automatically in the Vista systray, and in Windows Media Center. My Movies also includes a Collection Management program that you can use to catalog your DVD collection in all editions of Windows Vista. If you no longer want to use My Movies, or if you want to upgrade from My Movies 2 to My Movies 3, you should uninstall this program.

Click the "Start" button and type "My Movies" in the Start Search box. Select "My Movies Collection Management" from the program list. Select "File" and "Backup Database." Type a name for your backup, then click "Save." Close the My Movies Collection Management window. Make sure that Windows Media Center is also closed.

Type "My Movies" in the "Search" box in the upper-right corner of the screen. Select "My Movies for Windows Media Center" if you're running Windows Vista Home Premium or Ultimate edition. Select "My Movies Collection Management" if you're running any other edition of Vista. Click "Uninstall."

Tips & Warnings
If you already have My Movies 3 installed and wish to upgrade to a newer version, you don't need to uninstall the software before installing the upgrade.
You can also uninstall My Movies in the programs menu. Click "Start," "All Programs" and "My Movies", then select "Uninstall My Movies."
After re-installing My Movies, your movie database should appear in the My Movies Collection Management window automatically. If it doesn't, click "File" and "Restore Database" to recover your back-up.
If you installed both My Movies for Windows Media Center and My Movies Collection Management, you must uninstall the Collection Management program to prevent errors.
To reinstall My Movies in Windows Vista Home Premium and Ultimate, navigate to the My Movies Download page and select "My Movies for Windows Media Center." For Vista Home Basic and Business, select "My Movies Collection Management" instead.

For additional troubleshooting, open My Movies Collection Management, then click "Help" and "Debug." Select "Enable." Continue using My Movies to recreate any errors you've been experiencing. If you still experience problems after reinstalling My Movies, make sure that your network card drivers are up to date.
