How to Post Places on Facebook as a Status

One of the primary ways Facebook users stay updated with one another is via status updates each user posts to his profile. Although text-based updates are perhaps the most common, you need not limit yourself -- Facebook allows you to post pictures, videos and even links to other websites alongside your updates. If you use Facebook Mobile, post a "Place" as your status to link to the Facebook page of a bar, restaurant or other establishment -- and give its exact geographical location.

Instructions

    • 1

Download and install Facebook Mobile onto your mobile device if you aren't already using it. Open your device's "Application Store" and download the application -- which is free -- onto your phone. Tap or click its icon and log in to Facebook using your credentials.

    • 2

Tap or click the "Check In" icon above your "News Feed." Tap or click a place from the list of nearby places, or enter the place's name and tap or click "Add."

    • 3

Enter a brief message which describes what you're doing at the place. Tap or click "Tag Friends With You" to add other friends to the post, which will post the "Place" to their profile as well. Tap or click "Check In" to check in to the place and post it to your profile.
