How to Add a User to Skype on an iPhone

If you have been using Skype on your computer to make phone calls and video calls and send text messages over the Internet to other people, you might also want to use the service while you're on the go with your iPhone. The iPhone is a cellphone made by Apple. It has a touch-screen display, and can connect to the Internet over Wi-Fi to make Skype calls using the free Skype App. You can easily add a user to your contacts with Skype on your iPhone.

  • Press the "Home" button your iPhone to see the home screen.

  • Tap the "Skype" app icon.

  • Tap "Contacts." Tap the plus sign at the top of the screen. A screen appears with three options for adding a contact.

  • Tap "Search Skype Directory." Type a name in the search box, and then tap "Search." Tap a name from the search results. Tap "Add Contact." The "Contact Request" screen appears, with a message addressed to the contact, "Please accept me as a contact so we can call and chat." Type more text to add to the message if you desire. Tap "Send." When the person accepts the request, her name appears in your Skype contacts list with the green icon.

  • Tap "Add Phone Number," then type the user's name and phone number, and then tap "Save."

  • Tap "Import from iPhone," then tap a number from your iPhone's address book that you want to import. Tap "Save."
