How to Pop a Key Back in Place on a Laptop

Occasionally, a key can pop off your laptop keyboard, requiring that you pop it back on for the key to work properly. The keys are attached to a plastic pin on the keyboard with a plastic key retainer. The keys can be attached to the keyboard by snapping them into place without any tools needed. The laptop key can be put back into place in just a few minutes.

      Shut down the laptop system, and unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet. Remove the battery pack from the back of the laptop.

      Position the key retainer over the plastic pin on the laptop keyboard, and press the retainer onto the keyboard.

      Snap the pad into the key retainer, and place the key onto the key pad.

      Press down to snap the key onto the keypad, and plug the battery pack into the back of the laptop.

      Plug the power cord into the electrical outlet, and power up the laptop computer.
