1
Use fabric scissors to cut the hood off a red-hooded, zipper sweatshirt. Alternatively, if you want to use the sweatshirt in the future with the hood intact, leave the hood on. When you wear the costume, tuck the hood into the inside of the sweatshirt.

2
Cut five pieces of white, faux white fur using a pair of scissors. Each piece of fur should be 4-inches wide. The length depends on your size. Two pieces will go around the end of the pant cuffs, two will go around the end of sleeve cuffs and one will go around the bottom hem of the sweatshirt.

3
Cut a piece of Velcro tape, one for each of the five pieces of faux fur. The length should match the length of the faux fur pieces.
-
4
Peel the backing off the back of one side of the Velcro strips and press the sticky side to the center back of the faux fur pieces. Peel the backing off the other side of the strips and attach the sticky side to the red sweat suit. Place one piece on each ankle and each wrist around the bottom hem of the sleeves and pant legs. Place the fifth piece around the bottom hem of the jacket.

5
Attach four buttons to the front of the sweatshirt along the zipper line. Use 1-inch diameter gold buttons and a 1/2-inch piece of Velcro. Space the buttons evenly on the sweatshirt.
-
6
Wear the sweat suit. Stuff the inside of the sweatshirt with cotton batting or put a pillow inside the shirt to give you a large, round belly. Put a black belt that is between 3- to 4-inches wide around your waist.
-
7
Add white gloves, black boots, a white beard and a Santa hat to finish the look.

Tips & Warnings
To attach the batting permanently, use a sewing machine instead of the Velcro.
If the belt you choose does not have a large buckle, create one out of a piece of cardboard. Draw 4-inch-by-4-inch square on the cardboard. Draw two rectangles inside the square. Space them evenly with a 1/4-inch border around each one. Cut out the rectangles and discard them. Spray paint the buck with gold spray paint. Allow it to dry for 3 to 4 hours.
Gluing Velcro is not a permanent solution. If you want the costume to hold up, use a sewing machine to permanently attach the Velcro.
