How to Delete the Search History on My Desktop
Each time you visit a website, click a link or enter a search term, your browser makes a record of it. Delete the search history on your computer to protect your online privacy from other people that may use the same computer. Use the security settings of your Web browser to manage any history files saved to your desktop. Clearing the search history will not negatively affect any of your personal files or the operating ability of your browser.

Open an Internet Explorer window and click the "Tools" button.

Point to the "Safety" entry and click "Delete browsing history" in the sub-menu. A "Delete History" box will appear.

Click each of the checkboxes in the window, and click the "Delete" button to clear the search history.
