How to Import BlogSpot Posts to WordPress

Formerly known as BlogSpot, Blogger is a free blogging platform you use in conjunction with your Google account. Although Blogger differs in several ways from its competitor WordPress, your Blogger blogs are fully transferable to WordPress. Install WordPress' "Importer" plug in and provide your Google credentials to import any Blogger blog to your WordPress account.

Instructions

1. Log into WordPress. Upgrade your WordPress blog if you currently use a version older than 2.2. If an upgrade is available, it displays at the top of your "Dashboard." Click "Upgrade Now" to install the upgrade.

2. Navigate to the WordPress "Import" screen. Scroll to the bottom of the "Dashboard," maximize the "Tools" pane and click "Import."

3. Install the WordPress "Importer" plugin if you haven't already done so. An installation prompt will pop up if your blog lacks the current version of this plugin. Click "Install," then click "Activate" to be taken to the plugin screen.

4. Click "Blogger" and enter your Google Account credentials. A list of all your Blogger blogs displays. Click "Import" to import your posts to WordPress.
