How to Type an N With a Tilde

If you need to type in foreign languages, sooner or later you will come across a word that contains a character that doesn't appear on a standard computer keyboard. In Windows, you can add non-standard characters for accented letters such as an "ñ" by pressing a special key combination. Using the "Alt" key and a numeric code, you can add the character to any text window.

Instructions

1. Position the cursor in the window where you want to type the N with the tilde.

2. Hold down the "Alt" key.

3. Type "0209" into the numeric keypad at the right of your keyboard for a capital "'".

4. Type "0241" on your numeric keypad for a lowercase "ñ".
