How to Look up Past Weather History by Dates
Weather is something we tend to think of in terms of the present or future. However, you can also find out what weather conditions were on a particular day in the past. Certain websites report high and low temperatures for specific days, rain or snow amounts, wind conditions, and visibility.

Go to The Old Farmer's Almanac website, Almanac.com.

Click the "Weather" tab on the left side of the homepage.

Select the "Daily Weather History" tab under the main weather tab.

Type in a date and location. You can search for historical weather data as far back as 1946 for the U.S. and Canada.

Click "Search" and view the results.
NOAA National Climatic Data Center

Go to the National Climatic Data Center website, NCDC.NOAA.gov. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) maintains this site.

Click the picture labeled "Weather/Climate, Events, Information and Assessments." On this page, click the "Research and Monitoring" link.

Select the link "Monthly Climatic Data for the World." This takes you to a page where you can look at documents pertaining to weather around the world between 1948 and 2010. Some of the earlier years don't have documents available. The historical weather information that is provided includes the average temperature, difference in temperature between months and precipitation levels.

Tips & Warnings
A resource isn't available for weather history before the 1940s, since this type of data wasn't recorded until the 20th century.
