How to Connect Canon XH-A1 to S-Video
The Canon XH-A1 is a camcorder with the ability to output its recordings to a TV or VCR. The XH-A1 does not come with an S-video cable, but you can use the included video cable with an adapter to connect to a TV or VCR with an S-video input port. Canon recommends connecting the XH-A1 to an outlet when playing back video to prevent draining the battery.

Open the largest terminal cover on the back of the XH-A1.

Slide the switch down to the position marked "A/V1."

Plug the STV-290N cable supplied with the XH-A1 into the A/V1 port.

Plug the yellow RCA video cable connector into the RCA to S-video adapter.

Plug the S-video connector on the adapter into your TV.

Plug the red and white audio connectors on the STV-290N cable into the red and white audio inputs on your TV.
