Upload photos to an HP/Palm Pre by connecting it to a computer.

HP/Palm Pre smartphones include 8 gigabytes of internal memory storage that can be accessed by connecting the phone to a computer. When the device is connected to a computer with a Micro USB to standard USB cable, you can either charge the device or use it as a USB drive. One of these cables is included as a part of the charger that came with your HP/Palm Pre. Once connected, pictures and other files can be transferred to the internal memory in the same way that files transfer to USB flash drives.

Instructions

    • 1

Disconnect the Micro USB to standard USB cable from the charger that came with your HP/Palm Pre phone. If you do not have the default charger for your phone, you can use any Micro USB to standard USB cable.

    • 2

Plug the standard USB end of the cable to an available USB port on your computer.

    • 3

Connect the Micro USB end of the cable to the charger port on your HP/Palm Pre smartphone. A prompt will appear on the touchscreen of your device.

    • 4

Tap the "USB Drive" button on your phone's touchscreen. You will not be able to use your phone while it is connected as a USB drive.

    • 5

Find the photos you want to upload to your HP/Palm Pre on your computer. Select them and then press "Control" (or "Mac symbol" for Mac users) plus "C" on your computer keyboard to copy the photos.

    • 6

Open the drive labeled "Palm Pre" in Windows Explorer, or Finder for Mac users. This drive is the internal memory of your HP/Palm Pre device.

    • 7

Paste the files on to your HP/Palm Pre internal memory by pressing "Control" or "Mac symbol" plus "V."

    • 8

Eject the HP/Palm Pre USB drive before disconnecting the USB cable. You can eject the device by right-clicking the drive icon and selecting "Eject" with your mouse pointer. The photos are now on your device.
