How to Burn an Audio CD on a PC
With most computers on the market today, you have the capability of burning CDs of your favorite songs. With this process, you can take a blank CD and fill it with the songs of your choice. The process typically only takes a few minutes and the CD will work on any CD player or DVD player. You can even use the CDs on most gaming consoles, such as the Xbox 360 or the PlayStation 3.

Download a software program that you can use to burn CDs. One of the most common programs that has this functionality is iTunes. You can download iTunes for free and it will provide you with one of the tools you need to burn a CD. Once you download the software, double-click on it to open the interface.

Create your own CD playlist with songs on your computer. When you download iTunes, it will automatically check your computer for music that is saved on it. If songs are not automatically added to iTunes, you can also drag and drop them into the iTunes library. When you find a song in iTunes that you want to include on your music CD, you can right click on the song and select "Add to Playlist". You can also click on the songs, drag and drop them into the playlist on the left side of the screen.

Set the preferences for your CD. You will need to click on "Preferences" and then click on the "Burning" button. On the disc format section, select "Audio CD". You can also specify the speed or just select "Maximum Possible". You can also click on the box that says "Use Soundcheck" to make sure that all of the songs on your CD play at the same volume.

Choose the playlist that you want to put on your CD. Once you are finished with this process, you can click on the "Burn Disc" button. You will be prompted to insert a blank CD into the burning drive on your computer.

Wait for the audio CD to be completed. It should only take a few minutes and it will provide you with an alert on the computer screen that tells you the job is finished. While the CD is burning, you can see the progress bar on the screen that tells you how much time is left. You can then take the audio CD out of the drive and listen to it in any CD player.

Tips & Warnings
Use a CD-R disc to burn your audio CDs if you plan on listening to them in other devices like CD and DVD players. If you only want to use the discs to listen on a computer, you can use a CD-RW disc.
