How to Disable Aging in "Sims 3"

As you play "The Sims 3," you'll notice your characters begin to age. Kids will grow into teenagers, adults will grow into elderly men and women and eventually the elderly will succumb to death. If you enjoy keeping your original Sims around for as long as you play the game, you can opt to disable the aging process. Once aging is disabled, your Sims will forever stay young -- or old -- until you turn aging back on.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch the game and load the family you wish to play.

    • 2

Click the "Options" menu at the bottom left of the screen or press "F5" on your keyboard. Click "Options."

    • 3

Click the "Game Options" tab. The tab takes on the appearance of two gears. Remove the checkmark next to "Enable aging" by clicking the check box. Click the check mark at the bottom right of the window to save your settings.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you buy your Sim a birthday cake and throw him a party, your Sim will age even if you have aging disabled.
