How to Move Tabs in Internet Explorer From the Toolbar thumbnail
Removing tabs can eliminate clutter on your toolbar.

Tabs on the toolbar in Internet Explorer allow an Internet user to bookmark a page for future viewing. The process of using tabs instead of opening a new window for each webpage allows the desktop to appear less cluttered. Moving tabs from the toolbar to the desktop will open the tabs in a separate window. Removing tabs from the toolbar by deleting them will remove your ability to access those webpages through those tabs.

Instructions

    • 1

Click on the tab you want to move from the toolbar and drag it to the desktop.

    • 2

Unclick the tab and let the tab become its own window.

    • 3

Click on the "x" in the corner of the tab on the toolbar to delete it from the toolbar.

    • 4

Edit bookmarks in the bookmark menu if you want to edit bookmarks. Select which bookmark you want to remove an click "Remove."
