How to Get a Soul Shard in "World of Warcraft"

Prior to the "Cataclysm" expansion, warlocks could gather soul shards by killing enemies with special abilities. The "Cataclysm" expansion changed the soul shard system, allowing warlocks to carry only three soul shards at a time, but making it easier to gather them. The "Soul Harvest" ability, unlocked at level 12, allows warlocks to acquire soul shards at the click of a button. The Soul Harvest spell also recharges a portion of the warlock's health.

Instructions

    • 1

Select your warlock and enter the game.

    • 2

Open your spellbook by pressing "P" on your keyboard. Click the "Demonology" icon on the right side of the spellbook. Look for "Soul Harvest." The ability may be located on page two of your demonology spells.

    • 3

Click the "Soul Harvest" icon to begin harvesting a soul shard. Your health will also recharge. Soul Harvest is a channeled spell, which means you must remain stationary until the spell is complete, which is indicated by a green casting bar. As you cast the spell, your soul shard slots by your character's unit frame starts to fill up.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you do not have the Soul Harvest spell and are level 12 or higher, visit a warlock trainer to learn the spell.
