How Do I Create Multiple Pages in an Adobe Illustrator Document? thumbnail
You can make an Illustrator document with multiple pages.

When you work on a project with Adobe Illustrator, a graphics application, you might need to have multiple pages in a document. For example, you could be working on a cereal box design and you want to create the front and the back of the cereal box in the same file. In Adobe Illustrator, pages are referred to as "artboards." You can create a new document with a specific number of artboards or add artboards to an existing document.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch Adobe Illustrator on your computer.

    • 2

Click "File" from the Illustrator menu.

    • 3

Click "New." The "New Document" dialog box appears.

    • 4

Type a name for the document in the "Name" field.

    • 5

Click the "Number of Artboards" box and type the number of artboards you want to create in the document.

    • 6

Click "OK." The new document opens with the number of artboards you specified.

    • 7

Click the "New Artboard" button on the menu bar to add a new artboard to the Illustrator document you just created, or to add one to any previously existing Illustrator document. The "New Artboard" button has an icon of a square with a small triangle inside it. When you click on it, the outline of a new artboard appears, anchored to the cursor. Drag the cursor to the position in the Illustrator window where you would like the new artboard to be placed and then click to place the artboard there.
