How to Get Text Messages From Facebook on a Straight Talk Phone

Save

Facebook offers text message service to alert users of status updates, messages and Wall posts through their mobile phones. Facebook users with prepaid mobile service from Straight Talk, however, are unable to find that provider in the drop-down list of supported carriers. However, Straight Talk's coverage is provided by other, larger carriers. By determining which provider is providing coverage for your Straight Talk account, you can sign up to get text messages from Facebook.

  • Determine if your Straight Talk phone is a GSM model or a CDMA model. A "G" or "C" at the end of your phone's model number tells you which network it operates on. If you do not know your phone's model number, or there is no letter at the end, consult your phone's user guide or visit straighttalk.com/Phones to view current models or download user guides.

  • Log into your Facebook account.

  • Click the "Account" link in the top-right corner and select "Account Settings."

  • Select the "Mobile" tab.

  • Click the "Register for Facebook Text Messages" link.

  • Select your country and mobile carrier from the drop-down lists provided and click "Next."

  • Text the letter "F" to 32665 (FBOOK.)

  • Enter the confirmation code into the input field provided and click "Next" to finish the sign up process for Facebook Text Messages.
