How to Block Colleges From Looking on Your Computer
It is common for colleges to operate monitoring and filtering programs that enable network administrators to monitor websites students visit and block inappropriate or potentially harmful sites that could disrupt the network at your college. To block the college from looking on your computer use a proxy server, which is a website that gives you anonymity behind its server.
Instructions
-
Hide IP Proxy
-
1
Visit a proxy server website such as HideIPProxy.com, SilentSurf.tk or YouHide.com. These sites block your college from being able to look on your computer. A proxy website enables you to access the Internet behind its server; consequently, your college won't be able to see what websites you visit on your computer. These free-to-use proxy sites also let you bypass any filters that are hindering you from accessing certain websites that your college may be blocking access to.

2
Type the URL of the site you wish to view anonymously in the URL field located on the bottom region of the proxy site you are using.

3
Click the "Go" or "Proxify" button depending on the proxy you are using. This button is displayed next to the URL field. Thereafter, you will be redirected to the site of your choice while remaining anonymous. Your college is not able to see your computer because your IP address is concealed behind the proxy's server.
