Messaging or voice chats can be between two individuals, or you can chat to multiple people at the same time. (Reference 1).
Open Google Talk by clicking on the Google Talk icon in your start menu. Enter your username and password and press "Sign In." A list of your contacts will appear. (Reference 2).
Select an online contact. Your contacts that are online and available for chat will have a green dot placed before their names. Offline contacts are identified with a grey dot. Click on the selected contact's name and begin chatting. (Reference 2).
Click "Group Chat" from the horizontal tabs at the top of the chat window. A list of your online contacts will load. Click on those you want to add to the chat, and an invitation will be sent to them. Depending on whether they accept or decline, they will be added to the chat. (Reference 2).
Tips & Warnings
- If you find you are unable to sign into Google Talk, it could be due to your firewall settings. You may need to tell it to allow Google Talk in the options. If you cannot find a list, look at the help or FAQs section of your firewall application. (Reference 3).
