Use function keys on your MacBook to activate the sound.

When you use your MacBook, a laptop computer sold by Apple, you can listen to songs with the free iTunes application, which comes installed on every MacBook. You can also hear audio in movies that you play with the QuickTime video player, or videos that play in Web pages that you access with the Safari Internet browser. You listen to sound through the built-in speaker or portable speakers or headphones that you plug in to the headphone jack. If you don't hear sound coming from your MacBook, you can unmute it or increase the volume.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the "Power" button located on the top right of the MacBook above the keyboard and hold it for about one second to turn on the laptop.

    • 2

Press the "F5" key on the MacBook's keyboard repeatedly to increase the sound's volume and unmute it if the mute control had been activated.

    • 3

Press the "F4" key repeatedly to decrease the volume of sound on the MacBook.

    • 4

Press the "Mute" button if you need to turn off the sound, such as when you want to concentrate on something that you're reading.
