How to Sync Droids With PCs

Motorola Media Link is the official application provided by Motorola for synchronizing mobile data and media with the Motorola Droid series of phones using a PC. The application is capable of interacting with both Windows Media and iTunes playlists, so you don't need to import and organize media in an additional PC application. The software is available either on the software CD that comes with the Motorola Droid line or from Motorola's website.

Instructions

    • 1

Install Motorola Media Link either by downloading and running the install executable from Motorola.com, or by inserting the CD that came with your device and running the executable found there.

    • 2

Connect your Motorola Droid to the computer using the provided USB cable. Pull down the notification menu on the Motorola Droid, tap the USB icon, and then tap "PC Mode" to make synchronization possible.

    • 3

Launch the Motorola Media Link application using the desktop shortcut or through the Start menu. Click "Settings," and then "Music" to open the library synchronization option. Click to select the music library you wish to sync with.

    • 4

Click "Sync" in the upper-right corner, and then click each check box next to the playlists you wish to synchronize. To copy additional photos, videos, and other data, drag and drop shortcut icons from your desktop onto the phone icon in the Motorola Media Link application.

Tips & Warnings

  • Motorola Media Link can turn any audio file on your machine into a ring tone for your phone.
