How to Build a Wooden Flagpole
Flags have been used as a mark of heritage and stature in many cultures and societies. The flags are normally hoisted on poles, depending on the height and location of the flag. A flagpole can be costly; using basic resources such as wood will lower the costs. Does this Spark an idea?

- 12-inch wooden pole to fit in the PVC tubing
- Hoisting rope
- Durable eye screws
- Flag hooks
- Rope cleat
- Pulley

Instructions
-
-
1
Measure and mark the height of the bucket on the PVC tubing.
-
2
Wrap the outside of the PVC with plastic wrap up to the marked point. Secure the wrap with the tape. Coat the plastic wrap with the petroleum lubricant for easy removal from the concrete block.

3
Put 2 inches of cement in the bucket. Place the wrapped end of the tubing in the bucket. Use the level to make sure the tube is straight. Pour in more cement with the tube held in place. Because the cement dries quickly, the process should be done smoothly. Hold the PVC in place and let the cement dry overnight.

4
Remove the PVC tube from the concrete and paint it. Put the tubing back in the concrete. Attach the rope cleat at almost half the height of the pole. Use the drill and screws to mark and pilot the fitting.
-
5
Push the wooden rod into the PVC tube from the top until it evens out with the PVC edge. Attach the pulley on the top of the pole using the heavy-duty eye screws that go through to the wood.
-
6
Fix the flag rope through the pulley and the rope cleat. Attach the flag hooks to complete the flagpole setup.
