How to Break in a New Subwoofer
A subwoofer, like other speakers, is a mechanical device with a cone that produces sound by moving back and forth. Most audio experts and speaker manufacturers suggest a break-in period when new subwoofers are installed. This is easy to do and will result in longer life and better performance from your sub.

Turn the gain control on the amplifier powering the subwoofer down to about 50 percent of normal listening volume.

Jot down in a notebook the amount of time you play the stereo each day or each session.

After you've reached 20 to 30 hours of use, return the volume on the amplifier powering the subwoofer back to a normal listening level.
