How to Fix IE7 Favorites

One of the conveniences of using Internet Explorer 7 is being able to bookmark your favorite sites with the Favorites feature. You can store your Web page preferences within this feature as a shortcut. Whether you are unable to organize your favorites or access your favorite links, you can fix this feature easily. IE7 contains tools that allow you to recover damaged or missing bookmarks, so that you will never have to worry about losing your list of links and Web pages.

      Open Internet Explorer 7.

      Click "File" and then "Import and Export." Wait for the Import and Export Wizard to display.

      Click "Import," "Next," "Import Favorites," "Next" and then "Browse."

      Click the "bookmark.htm" file in the "Documents" folder and select "Next." Choose a folder to store the bookmarks and click "Finish." Proceed to Step 5 if the above steps do not fix your Favorites.

      Launch IE7 if it is not already open. Click "Tools" and select "Internet Options."

      Open the "Advanced" tab and click "Reset."

      Click "Reset" in the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box. This will reset the damaged Favorites files and settings.
