How to Legalize Amnesty for Illegal Immigrants

Amnesty will forgive the use of fake green cards.

A citizen of the United States is guaranteed the right to civil participation. You may actively participate in the government by petitioning lawmakers and changing the landscape of the legislature. If you want amnesty for illegal immigrants you will have to lobby the federal government. Immigration law and enforcement is handled by the federal government. You will need to do lots of research, communicate with congressmen and senators, and start a grassroots campaign in order to achieve amnesty for illegal immigrants.

Instructions

1. Compile reputable research. You will have to address homeland security concerns and obtain impartial information as to why amnesty will not harm the U.S. Address economic concerns by compiling evidence that suggests the economy will not be hurt, or will even be improved, by amnesty.

2. Find like-minded people in your community. Use the Internet to find a state lawmaker that is sympathetic to immigration reform, contact her office and ask if she knows of any local immigration groups. Use the Internet to find local branches of nationwide immigration reform groups such as the Federation of Immigration Reform.

3. Start a physical petition and gain signatures of people in your area. Attend any meetings of the local immigrant rights group and explain to them your mission.

4. Broaden your petition by starting an online petition and asking strangers in public places for their support. Enlist the help of like-minded people to start a grassroots organization for amnesty.

5. Draft an amnesty bill proposal. The bill may include earned citizenship through responsible living, as well as implied amnesty for making fake green cards and using fake social security numbers. Write the bill in clear and concise language.

6. Use the Internet to locate a federal lawmaker who is sympathetic to immigration reform. Any lawmaker that currently supports the federal Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) act is a good place to start. The DREAM act is earned amnesty for the children of illegal immigrants.

7. Approach the lawmaker representing your grassroots organization. Contact his office and present your proposed amnesty bill with supporting evidence. Present your petition to show how many Americans support the idea.

8. Keep contacting senators or congressmen with your proposal until a lawmaker agrees to champion a version of your bill. Support the lawmaker as she presents your work to the federal bicameral legislature. Attend any hearings and testify on the request of the lawmaker.

9. Wait to see if your amnesty bill gets through the House of Representatives and the Senate. The President will have final approval. If the bill is not ratified right away do not give up; you may try again.
