How to Delete Items From History in Microsoft XP
Windows XP comes pre-installed with Internet Explorer, Microsoft's Web browser. The Windows XP operating system has a command line utility that you can use to clear the Web browsing history on your computer. For privacy reasons, clearing your browsing history is a good idea if you want to sell your computer or hide browsing history from other people who use your computer.

Click the "Start" button, then click "Run" from the list of menu options.

Type or copy and paste the following command in the Run text box:
RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 1

Press the "Enter" key to execute the command. An MS-DOS window opens and the history deletes on your computer. The MS-DOS window closes when the history deletion completes.
In the Browser

Launch Internet Explorer.

Click the "Tools" button at the top-right corner of the window. Click the "Delete Browsing History" item to open a dialog window.

Click "Delete all" to remove all of your browsing history. Click "Yes" to confirm that you want to remove all of the history files.
