How to Reset My Sony NWZ-A726

When you're having problems with your Sony Walkman MP3 player and don't know how to fix it, you always have the option of resetting the player to its original factory settings. This won't necessarily solve your problems, especially if they are hardware related. However, formatting your Walkman will remove all files in addition to reverting the player to factory settings. This can be useful if you are planning on selling your MP3 player or giving it away.

Instructions

1. Turn on your Sony Walkman. Press the "Back/Home" button. This will bring you to the Home menu.

2. Highlight the Settings icon, which looks like a toolbox, using the navigation buttons. Press the "Play/Pause" button to open the Settings screen.

3. Highlight "Common Settings" using the navigation buttons. Press the "Play/Pause" button to open up the Common Settings screen.

4. Highlight "Format" using the navigation buttons. Press the "Play/Pause" button.

5. Highlight "Yes" using the navigation buttons. Press the "Play/Pause" button. You will be asked to confirm that you want to format the MP3 player. Highlight "Yes" and press the "Play/Pause" button.

Tips & Warnings

• You cannot reverse the formatting process once it has been done. Be sure to back up any important files before you perform the operation.
