How to Find Computer IP Address on Linksys Router
A router is a piece of networking hardware that connects multiple computers or subnets to each other. It "routes" each incoming network packet by forwarding it out on the port that will get it closer to its ultimate destination. Routers can be configured to assign dynamic Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to each computer that connects to the network. You can find out the IP address currently assigned to a given computer by querying your Linksys router.

1
Log into any computer directly connected to the router.
-
2
Launch a Web browser on the computer. Navigate to the Web address of the router's configuration utility. The specific Web address depends on the model of your Linksys router, and can be found in the router's manual. For example, for a Linksys WRT54GS router, the address is "192.168.1.1." The browser will display the main menu of the router's configuration utility.

3
Go into the menu option that shows the current status of the router. The structure and contents of the configuration menus depends on the model of your Linksys router, and is documented in the router's manual. For example, for a WRT54GS, click on "Status" on the main menu.
-
4
Instruct the browser to list its current DHCP clients. For example, on a WRT54GS, click on "Local Network," then on "DHCP Clients Table." A new window will pop up.
-
5
Find the computer whose IP address you want on the leftmost column of the DHCP Clients table (labeled "Client Name"). The IP address will be in the same line, under the next column (labeled "IP Address").
