How to Embed Videos in a Constant Contact Newsletter

Save

Constant Contact does not allow its customers to directly embed videos in newsletter campaigns. Several email programs do not allow video viewing within emails. Video files and certain types of file attachments are often blocked by many ISPs because they are known to spread viruses. Inserting a link to a video clip or a thumbnail picture of your video are therefore better options for sharing videos in your email newsletter.

To Add A Link To Your Video

  • Create your video or Choose a video to share from Youtube, Vimeo or Blip.TV.

  • Upload your video to your website or Youtube if you created a new video. This will provide a link to your file. If you are sharing a video from another site, locate the "share" button, then copy and paste the link provided.

  • Add the link to your newsletter template to redirect your contacts to your video.

To Add A Thumbnail Picture Of Your Video

  • Select the block where you want your thumbnail to appear, then click the pencil icon.

  • Click where you would like to insert the video image.

  • Click the "Video Link" within the "Insert" section located on the left side of the page.

  • Add the URL (link) for the video you would like to share with your contacts, then click "create image."

  • Adjust the size of the thumbnail by dragging the slider above the image. You may edit the title that appears below the thumbnail in the "Title" field. Click insert, then save.

Tips & Warnings

  • You will not be able to link to Private YouTube videos.
  • Read and agree to the terms of service for YouTube, Blip.TV and Vimeo.
