How to Draw an Alien Monster

Draw unique alien monster creatures using these simple guidelines.

If you've always wanted to create your own creature, all you need are drawing materials and a little imagination. Design and draw funny or frightening hybrids of aliens and monsters. Create creatures that have tentacles, fins, numerous eyes, and polka dots; during the process of drawing an alien monster, you do not have to abide by any rules. Before you begin, decide what features you would like your alien monster to have. Browse through pictures of aliens and monsters to think of ideas for your own frightening hybrid.

Things You'll Need

• Paper
• Pencil
• Pen
• Eraser

Instructions

1. Draw the general head and body shape of the alien monster using a pencil. This is essentially the outline stage, where you are creating a foundation to build your creature from.

2. Add large details to the basic body structure. Use your imagination to add a combination of fins, tentacles, wings, eyes, tails, legs and mouths.

3. Add smaller details to your monster such as teeth, claws, eyelids and eyeballs.

4. Add texture to the alien monster illustration. If it is reptilian, you can add C-shaped scales, and if it is a mammal, try adding small tufts of fur using V-shaped tick marks.

5. Draw any patterns or designs, such as stripes or polka dots, onto the alien monster's skin or scales.

6. Draw over the pencil lines of the alien monster illustration in ink. Allow the ink to completely dry before erasing the pencil guidelines.
