How to Disable a Login Block in Drupal

By default, a Drupal website's login block is displayed on the sidebar or in the footer. If you want to disable the user login block, you can do so in the block administration page. Disabling the login block is just like disabling any other block. Once the block is disabled, you'll be unable to sign in to your administration panel using the block. To sign in, you'll have to access the administrator login at a special URL.

Instructions

    • 1

Sign in to your site's administration panel. Click on "Structure," and then click on "Blocks."

    • 2

Scroll down to the "User Login" block. Click on the arrow next to it to open the position selector.

    • 3

Select the block's "None" position. This disables the login block.

    • 4

Scroll down and click on "Save Blocks."

    • 5

Access "www.yoursite.com/?q=user" to login to the administration panel in the future. Replace "yoursite" with your website's URL, but do not replace "user" with your username.
