How to Crochet a Laptop Sleeve
Laptops are very delicate pieces of costly electronics. Protecting them from getting bumped and broken is vital for its endurance. Crocheting a laptop sleeve or cozy is fast and not complicated. Make one to keep your laptop cushioned and protected. Keep in mind that your crocheted laptop sleeve will have some stretch. Choose whatever yarn color(s) fit your style.

1
Measure the width of the laptop with a measuring tape. Measure the length of the laptop.

2
Crochet a chain with a thick chunky type yarn (for a better cushioning effect) that equals the width measurement then add an inch worth more of chain stitches. Make sure it is an even number. In the fourth chain from hook, work a double crochet. Make a double crochet (dc) in each chain loop back to the beginning of chain. Work 5 double crochets in the end chain loop (six double crochets), then make one double crochet in each of the backs of the loops to the first double crochet. Work five double crochets in the first chain loop and slip stitch to join. This makes an oval shape and is the first round. Count the stitches and make sure they are the same throughout the pattern rows. Do not turn after any of the rounds. Chain three.

Make a double crochet in the back loop only of the stitch in each stitch around. The piece will automatically make a cupping shape. Slip stitch to join to top of chain three. This is the second round. Do not turn. Chain three.

4
Work a double crochet in both loops in each stitch around. Crochet as many rounds as needed to cover the length of the laptop. Check the fit as you go, remembering that the yarn will stretch, so do not crochet too loosely either.

5
Chain two for the last round and work a front post double crochet in the first double crochet of the previous round. Next, work a back post double crochet in the next double crochet of the previous round. Do this all around the round to the original chain two and slip stitch to join in the top of it. This round makes a nice stretchy ribbing effect to the top of the laptop sleeve.

6
Chain one. Work a single crochet in each stitch around for a final nice edge. Fasten off. Weave in yarn ends with the crochet hook to hide.
