How to Find Someone's Email Via Twitter

Finding emails on Twitter can be challenging and requires persistence.

Connecting people with a variety of communities in 140 characters or less is the main premise of Twitter. At times, you may find that the limited characters will not suffice for a certain communication. While using email would be ideal, finding an email address for someone on Twitter may pose a challenge, as people do not normally post their email addresses in the Twitter biography section for users.

Instructions

    • 1

Select the user's profile by clicking on their username within a tweet. The user profile should appear to the right hand side of the Twitter interface or somewhere within your timeline if you are using a third-party application to use Twitter.

    • 2

Scan the person's biography for an email posting or an external link to their website or additional social media profiles.

    • 3

Select the external link posted by the user and look for the contact information within their website, blog or external site listed on Twitter.

    • 4

Copy the email listed on their additional site and continue to contact them using this means of communication.

Tips & Warnings

  • Twitter is an open platform, so many people tend to leave their email information off of Twitter. Finding an email may pose a challenge if the person does not want to be contacted by email.

  • Posting a link to an external site is also optional, so you may not find a means of seeking out the person's email. In this case, send them a tweet, using their "@username" in the message, asking them for an email contact and why you desire the information. Provide your email in the tweet if the person is not following you, as many people will not want to broadcast their email to the entire user base of Twitter in a public reply. If the person is following you, ask them to send it by direct message. This is a private message sent between two Twitter users, but they both must be following each other for this to work.
