How to Recover a Session in Firefox
Firefox's Session Restore acts as a sort of insurance for your Web browsing experience. The feature opens all of the tabs you were viewing before Firefox closed, saving you from the tedium of tracking the websites down a second time. By default, Session Restore only activates when Firefox closes unexpectedly or when you need to restart your browser to activate an add-on or update. You can, however, configure Firefox to always launch in Session Restore mode and open the Web pages you were viewing when you closed the browser, rather than displaying your homepage.
Instructions
-
Always Open Session Restore
-
1
Launch Firefox.
-
2
Click the "Firefox" button, then click "Options." An Options dialog box appears.
-
-
3
Open the "General" tab.
-
4
Click the "When Firefox starts:" drop-down menu. Three options appear, all of which change the way Firefox behaves at launch.
-
5
Click "Show my windows and tabs from last time." The drop-down menu closes and the option appears in the "When Firefox starts:" field.
-
6
Click "OK" to close the dialog box and save the change. Firefox will recover your session every time you open the browser.
After Crashing
-
7
Browse with Firefox normally until something causes the browser to crash without warning.
-
8
Open Firefox normally once again after the browser closes.
-
9
Click "Yes" when a Firefox dialog box informs you that the previous session closed unexpectedly and asks if you'd like to recover your previous session.
