How to Reapply a Slide to Return Placeholders to Their Original Position in PowerPoint 2007
At the end of a long day you stare at your desk, strewn with papers. If only there were a way to put everything in its proper position automatically. Perhaps a tiny robot named Nigel. What you desk lacks, PowerPoint 2007 has in full effect. After you're done moving items around on a PowerPoint slide, you can reset all of the objects, called placeholders, back to their original positions with the click of a button. You could even call the button Nigel, if you want.

Open PowerPoint, open the file you want to work with and click on the slide whose layout you want to reset in the list on the left.

Click the "Home" tab in the Office Ribbon.

Click the "Reset" button in the "Slides" area. All the placeholders will return to their original positions. Note that this will only affect items that were original to the slide like the title, content and footers. Any additional objects that you added will not be moved.

Tips & Warnings
Change the layout features in the Slide Master view. Click "View" and then "Slide Master." Adjustments to the layout of the slides here will apply across all of the slides in your presentation.
Select a different layout by clicking on the "Home" tab then clicking the "Layout" button in the "Slides" area. Some options are "Two Content Slide" or "Picture with a Caption."
