How to Know If You Won the Bid on eBay

A great many bargains await on the popular eBay auction site. Although the site offers instant purchases, the majority of listings are auctions, where you don't know if you won until the end of the auction. Normally, eBay notifies you if you won or lost an auction via email, but you can also find out by visiting the eBay site. You won't even have to locate the original auction page, since your status is displayed in your "My eBay" page.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your browser and go to ebay.com.

    • 2

Click "My eBay" at the top, right of the eBay page.

    • 3

Enter your User ID and Password in the "Sign in" page and click "Sign in."

    • 4

Click "Won/Purchased" in the left-hand menu under the top "Buy" section. The resulting page displays all auctions you won. If your auction is in this list, then you won the auction.

    • 5

Click "Didn't Win" under the "Buy" section. This lists all closed auctions that you did not win. If your auction is in this list, you did not win.

    • 6

Click "Bids/Offers" under the "Buy" section. This lists all auctions you are currently bidding on, but that have not yet ended. If your auction is in this list, the winner has yet to be decided.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you only bid on a single auction, then looking for the "1" after the link will tell you in which category your auction fell. As an example, if you see a "0" after "Won/Purchases" and "Bids/Offers," but see a "1" after "Didn't Win," then you unfortunately did not win your auction.
