How to Draw Fishhooks
If you're drawing an underwater fishing scene, the fishhook is often the centerpiece of the illustration. Don't let your illustration down by incorrectly drawing a fishhook. Complete your fishing scene with a realistic-looking fishhook with this simple design. After drawing the fishhook, you can add other details such as squirming bait or fish hungrily following the hook through the water.

1
Draw a straight, vertical line that curves upward at the bottom, similar to a J shape. This J shape will be the main body of the fishhook.
-
2
Draw a small circle at the top of the fishhook's body. This is the ring where fishermen attach the hook to the fishing line.
-
-
3
Draw a small triangular barb atop the curved end of the hook's body, or the tail of the J shape.
-
4
Draw in curvy fishing line, lightly pressing on the pencil to create the illusion of translucent fishing line.
-
5
Draw bait, such as a wriggling worm, on the fishhook, if desired.
